Are there any age restrictions?

Clients are required to be in possession of a valid driving license for a period at least one year.

  • 21 years Minimum age limit to drive normal cars.
  • 23 years Minimum age limit to drive sports cars.

What documents are required to hire a car?

  • Copy of Passport with Visa page
  • Copy of your valid UAE Driving License / valid International Driving Permit (IDP)
  • Credit Card

What payment options do you have?

You can use any of the following payment methods to pay for your rental:

  • Cash
  • Visa / MasterCard

Can I prepay for my rental?

Yes, please get in touch to arrange prepayment.

Do you require a deposit to rent a vehicle?

Yes. Your deposit type, amount and method of payment will vary by arrangement type.

Can I reserve my rental car?

Yes. You can reserve a luxury rental car from Portofino luxury car rental by contacting one of our sales representatives.

Can I modify / cancel my reservation?

You can modify or cancel your existing reservation by contacting our customer care representative. Please note that any modifications or cancellations by the customer will have to be made at least 48 hours prior to the booking time. For any cancellations or modifications by the customer within 48 hours prior to the booking, additional charges may occur.

Do late-return fees apply?

Vehicles are rented on a daily (24-hour) basis. There is 1 hour (60 minutes) grace period for returns. After 1 hour, hourly car rate charges apply. After 3 hours (180 minutes) late, full-day charges apply. There is no grace period for rental fees, surcharges and optional equipment or protection charges. Full-day late charges will apply for these items.

Will any other fees apply?

No. There are no other fees charged by our luxury car rental company unless the customer wishes to add additional services (e.g. Personal Driver, Urgent Exchange, Picks-up, and Other).

What types of vehicles do you offer?

Can I change where I return a vehicle after I have picked it up?

Yes. You may change the car rental pickup location by contacting our customer care representatives 3-6 hours in advance.

May I extend my rental beyond the original return date?

It depends on the situation. If your rental car has a future booking, you won’t be able to extend. However, you may be able to exchange your rental car with any other model available. If you’re exchanging with a lower or higher range, the rental rates will be adjusted accordingly. If your premium rental car is available then you’re welcome to extend by contacting our customer care representative or sales department.

What should I do if I have problems with my car? Do you offer roadside assistance?

Before you start driving, take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the vehicle’s equipment and operation, including heat and A/C, Radio, Lights, Windshield Wipers, Spare Tire, Seat Belts and Door Locks, and Gas Tank access. Getting distracted trying to figure out those things while driving can be dangerous. Don’t wait until the fuel warning light goes on to think about buying Gas, especially if you don’t know how far is between Gas Stations. In case if you have any problems with our rental car, you may contact our sales department. If there are minor issues that can be fixed on the spot, we will send our operations team for assistance. If, in the unlikely event that your car malfunctions, contact our sales department for assistance or car replacement. Do not leave your vehicle. Wait in the car for service or police to arrive.

What should I do if I’m involved in an accident or the car is damaged during my rental?

If you have an accident, do not leave the accident scene. Contact the police. If no one was hurt and vehicle damage is minor, drivers should move their vehicles to the side of the road to avoid blocking traffic. Otherwise, the vehicles should not be moved. Could you obtain the report from the police and submit it to Portofino Luxury Car Rental.
